Flygt pump repair and rewind in Edmonton

A Flygt submersible is a sealed motor and a pump in one casing, and repairing it properly means treating both. In our Edmonton shop we rewind the submersible stator when it has failed, replace the mechanical seals and refill the oil chamber, check the leakage sensor and cable entry, replace bearings, restore impeller-to-insert-ring clearance and test the pump before it goes back. The shop's burn-out oven, VPI dip tank, balancing equipment and testing capability are the same ones we use on motors up to the largest the crane will lift.

We are an independent repair shop for Flygt equipment. That means you get a straight answer on whether a 20-year-old 3153 is worth rewinding or whether a replacement makes more sense, and it means we can also quote a Barnes, Gorman-Rupp or Grundfos unit if the Flygt is uneconomic.

Flygt pumps, seals and parts we supply

Flygt mechanical seals are already part of our seals line, and we supply Flygt impellers, insert rings, cables and wear parts for repairs, along with new Flygt pumps and mixers through the proper channel.

  • N-technology 3000 series — self-cleaning N-impeller wastewater pumps for lift stations and treatment plants; Xylem rates the range to 26,600 GPM with motors from 1.5 to 870 HP.

  • Concertor — Flygt's integrated pump-and-controls unit with adaptive performance and built-in clog handling.

  • Bibo 2800 and 2600 series dewatering pumps for construction, mines and quarries; 2700 series stainless units for corrosive water.

  • 5000 series heavy-duty slurry pumps for sand, tailings and abrasive service.

  • Flygt mixers for wet wells and treatment tanks, and MAS 801 monitoring.

Who brings Flygt pumps to Alberta Rewind

Towns and counties whose lift stations run N-pumps and need a rebuild, a seal or a spare in the shop for the next failure. Oil-sands and mine operators with Bibo and slurry pumps in dewatering service. Contractors who rent or own dewatering pumps and need them back on site quickly. Our branches in Lloydminster, Provost and Red Deer mean a rural lift station is not a two-hour drive from help.

Repair or replace an older Flygt pump

On the 3000 series the answer is usually repair: a rewound stator, new seals and a restored impeller clearance return an older 3153 or 3127 to its original duty point at a fraction of the price of a new pump. Upgrading to an N-impeller on an older unit reduces clogging and the energy loss that comes with it. When the casing is worn through or the pump was never the right size for the station, we say so and quote the replacement — Flygt or otherwise.

Field service for lift stations and dewatering across Western Canada

Our fully equipped service vehicles cover all of Western Canada and the Northwest Territories: pulling and re-setting submersibles at lift stations, on-site seal and cable work, vibration analysis, installation and removal, and preventative maintenance programs that keep a duplex station's spare rotated and tested rather than seized.

Flygt questions we get asked.

What is the difference between independent and factory Flygt repair?

Factory or authorized repair goes through Xylem's channel and its parts and warranty terms. Independent repair at Alberta Rewind uses our own EASA-standard motor shop, genuine or equivalent parts as you choose, and gives you a repair-versus-replace opinion that is not tied to selling a new pump. For a pump still under warranty, call us first and we will tell you which route protects the coverage.

Can you rewind a Flygt 3153?

Yes. The 3153 is one of the most common Flygt wastewater pumps in Alberta, and rewinding its stator, replacing the seals and restoring the impeller clearance is routine work in our Edmonton shop. We test the pump before it goes back.

Do you stock Flygt seals?

Yes. Flygt mechanical seals for the common 3000 series sizes are stocked in Edmonton, with impellers, insert rings and cable assemblies available.
