Taco Pumps in Edmonton — Circulators, Cartridges and Commercial Pump Repair

Alberta Rewind & Pump Services supplies Taco circulators, replacement cartridges and commercial pumps from Edmonton and rebuilds the Taco pumps already running in Alberta mechanical rooms: 007 and 007e, 0015e3, the 00e VR Series ECM commercial circulators, and the FI, CI, KV, KS and TC commercial lines. Family-owned since 1976, four Alberta locations, 24-hour emergency service at 780-468-7175.

Taco circulators and cartridges we supply

The circulators that keep hydronic heating, cooling and hot-water recirculation moving, and the cartridges that fix most of them without replacing the whole pump.

  • Taco 007 and 007e — the 007e ECM circulator uses up to 85% less electricity than a standard circulator, according to Taco, on the same footprint.

  • Taco 0015e3 — three-speed ECM circulator for residential and light-commercial zones.

  • 00e VR Series — variable-speed ECM commercial circulators (VR15 to VR30) with BACnet and Modbus, and NSF 61 and 372 certified stainless models for potable hot water.

  • Replacement cartridges for the 00 Series, so a worn circulator is back in service in minutes.

  • Flanges, valves, expansion tanks and the Taco accessories that go on the same job.

Taco commercial pumps

Taco redesigned its commercial line in 2020 to exceed the U.S. Department of Energy's 2020 pump efficiency standards, with ECM motors on the smaller ratings. We supply and rebuild the full range.

  • FI Series base-mounted end suction — 1/2 to 200 HP, 20 to 4,800 GPM, with Taco's dry-shaft design.

  • CI Series close-coupled end suction for compact installations.

  • KV vertical in-line and KS vertical split-coupled in-line — the KS runs 3/4 to 600 HP and up to 12,500 GPM, and the split coupling means the seal is serviced without pulling the motor.

  • TC vertical split case double-suction pumps from 2 to 800 HP for large chilled and condenser water loops.

Who buys Taco from Alberta Rewind

Hydronic heating contractors who need a 007e or a cartridge on the way to a no-heat call. Property managers and hi-rise operators keeping domestic hot-water recirculation and heating loops running. Schools, hospitals and commercial buildings with FI, KS and TC pumps on chilled and hot-water systems. They come to us rather than a wholesaler because we can also rebuild the pump, rewind the motor and align it back on its base.

Taco pump repair in Edmonton

Small Taco circulators are usually a cartridge swap or a replacement — we will tell you which is cheaper. The commercial lines are worth rebuilding: on FI, KV, KS and TC pumps we replace mechanical seals, bearings and couplings, trim or replace impellers, repair shafts in our machine shop and rewind the motor if it has failed, then balance and test the assembly before it goes back. If a pump is still inside its Taco warranty period, call us before it is opened and we will confirm whether a claim applies.

Upgrading a 007 to a 007e

Taco positions the 007e as the replacement for the 007; confirm the flange-to-flange dimension of the older unit before ordering, and an ECM upgrade on a boiler loop is usually a short job. On buildings with a dozen or more circulators the electricity saving is the reason to do it; on a single zone it is the quieter running and the longer life. For commercial loops, a 00e VR Series on BACnet lets the building automation system set the speed instead of a balancing valve throttling it.

Field service for Taco installations

Our service vehicles cover all of Western Canada and the Northwest Territories: mechanical-room pump swaps, laser alignment on base-mounted FI pumps, vibration analysis, installation and removal, and preventative maintenance programs for heating and cooling plants.

Taco questions we get asked.

Taco 007 or 007e — is the upgrade worth it?

For most buildings, yes. Taco positions the 007e as the 007's replacement, it runs quieter, and Taco rates it at up to 85% less electricity. If you are replacing a failed 007 anyway, the 007e is the better buy; if the 007 is healthy, the payback depends on how many circulators the building runs and how many hours they run.

Do you stock Taco cartridges in Edmonton?

Yes. Replacement cartridges for the 00 Series circulators are stocked at our Edmonton parts counter, along with 007e and 0015e3 circulators.

Can you rebuild a Taco KS in-line pump?

Yes. The KS is split-coupled, so the mechanical seal can be serviced without removing the motor; we also replace bearings and couplings, repair shafts and rewind motors in our Edmonton shop, then balance and test before the pump goes back.
